There was no stopping this Best of British battle when it came to bringing out some iconic members of British transportation history – and you can’t be much more iconic than the Supermarine Spitfire. The Spitfire was one of the largest fighter jets ever built and a jewel of aerodynamic and technical vision and capabilities.

With the Spitfire confirmed, all that remained was to think of a few other transport icons, vehicles that epitomize British culture and the thrill of the open road. How about…. a double decker night bus, a black London taxi, a car packed with summer festival goers and the infamous icon on the UK streets, the white van. In true Red Bull spirit, we cheered on the RB7, which has twice won F1 championships, to take on the great beasts of British transport in a fight to the finish line ahead of the race this weekend.-

The UK Grand Prix is right next to Red Bull Racing Honda’s technology campus in Milton Keynes and is a hugely important race for the team and its drivers, Max explains. “The British love their motorsport, that’s something special. I’m always really happy to be in the country, but of course it’s even better to be at Silverstone. It was great to see all these typically British vehicles with the RB7 on the track and I hope the fans enjoy the fun before the race over the weekend. “

Red Bull Racing Honda CEO and Team Principal Christian Horner added: “I think Silverstone will be a big challenge. It’s been a Mercedes stronghold for a few years now, but it’s another opportunity to see how we fare on a different track. And of course there will be a new event format with the first of the new Sprint Races this year and there will be additional points. Whatever happens, it’s going to be a really exciting weekend and we’re ready for the fight. “
