USR-PLUS Co-Chair, Dan Barna, says that governing in a coalition is “much harder than it would have been expected”, but claims that USR-PLUS will remain in power “until it becomes clear that no reforms can be made”. The deputy prime minister admits that there is in USR-PLUS “a vein, a group” that wants the party to leave the government.

He noted that he has “both the energy and the vision” to take the USR-PLUS project “further.”
Barna reaffirmed USR-PLUS ‘decision to remain in the ruling coalition for as long as reforms can be made, even if it is “much harder than expected.”
“We are determined to stay in this coalition until the moment when it will be obvious that no reforms can be made. I believe that that moment will not come because we have seen in the PNL colleagues and in the UDMR colleagues an openness and a responsibility in which means the need for reforms in Romania, “he added.
Barna stressed that the government is currently taking place, “in an electoral context”, showing that all parties in the coalition have internal elections.
Regarding the “scenarios” according to which the heads of the two chambers of the Parliament will be changed or “ministries” will be “re-discussed” after the internal elections in the PNL, Barna denied this hypothesis.
