Pabriks did not want to evaluate his possible successors, emphasizing only that it is important that the country maintains the objectives set so far in the defense sector and the speed of their achievement.
The politician said that, according to the army itself, it is currently 70% ready for the implementation of the SAD, judging by the prepared infrastructure, documents, notification of new recruits, etc.
The outgoing minister refused to accept the harsh criticism of Saeima’s lawyers that the SAD bill was poorly prepared. According to Pabrika, the SAD should be started as soon as possible, because “we live in conditions of war”.
Pabriks believes that the implementation of the SAD is urgent, as there are currently exhausted opportunities to replenish the ranks of the army on the basis of voluntary principles.
