The track time has been notarized and is now officially listed by Nürburgring GmbH as a new record in the “SUV, off-road, minibus, pickup” category.

“After the first few meters of the Nordsleif track, I felt tempted to turn back to make sure I was really sitting in an SUV,” says Lars Cairn, who was also involved in the development of the model and praised the extremely precise steering and stoicness of the rear suspension.

According to the test rider, the car is able to change direction in sharp turns at lightning speed without swinging or maneuvering difficulties. Even on technically difficult sections, the Cayenne Turbo Coupe can safely be called an easy-to-control ‘driver’s car’. If, for other cars in the Pflanzgarten sections of the track, the wheels I and II are usually detached from the ground, the Porsche Cayenne will drive softly and smoothly in these areas.

Lars Cairne made his fastest time on the Nordshield track with the powerful Cayenne Turbo Coupe on June 14 this year, just before noon, when the outside air temperature was 23 degrees Celsius and the track temperature was 46 degrees. The rider crossed the finish line after 7: 38,925 minutes.

To protect the rider, the Cayenne was equipped with a racing seat and a safety frame. Otherwise, however, the machine complied with the weight and specification of the production vehicle, which was notarised. The only contact with the asphalt for the off-road was provided by 22-inch Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, specially designed for the new Cayenne model and available as standard.
