It is a 100% Kenyan pair who won the 50th edition of the New York Marathon. After the success of Peres Jepchirchir among women, it is another Kenyan, Albert Korir, who won on the men’s side. He completed the 42 kilometer race in 2 hours and 8 minutes this Sunday.

Second of the previous edition in 2019, that of last year having been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he beat the Moroccan El Arraby and the Italian Eyob Faniel, 3rd. In search of a victory, even of the world record for the distance, for his very first participation in New York, the Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele missed his race.
