Khamenei Warns of “Irreparable Damage” as Conflict Intensifies
As the conflict escalates, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has issued a stark warning, signaling the nation’s resolve amid growing tensions. The situation developed after a significant bombing campaign launched by Israel last week, heightening the risks in the region.
Iranian Ultimatum and Retaliation
In a Wednesday address, Khamenei declared that Iran would never yield, simultaneously cautioning the United States about the potential for “irreparable damage” should it involve itself. The comments were made six days after the conflict began. Earlier, Donald Trump suggested he might intervene, while also demanding Iran’s “unconditional surrender.”
The conflict erupted on Friday with an extensive Israeli bombing campaign. Iran answered with missile and drone strikes. Khamenei described Trump‘s demand as “unacceptable”.

Khamenei also made a vow to show “no mercy” to Israel’s leaders. The price of oil has increased by 15% since the attacks began, illustrating the global impact of the crisis (U.S. Energy Information Administration).
Escalation and Military Actions
Israel announced the destruction of the internal security headquarters in Tehran. The long-range strikes initiated the current phase of the conflict. Khamenei has held the supreme leadership position in Iran since 1989.
“America should know that any military intervention will undoubtedly result in irreparable damage,” he stated.
