As we recall, after Mortal Kombat 4, one of the main fathers of the series, John Tobias, who, together with Ed Boon, founded the original MK team and invented the game, left Midway Games Studios in the past. So, now John Tobias himself tweeted on his return to creating games!
And he not only returned anyhow, but joined the future division of WB Games which he will create together with other people in San Diego! About this, John said on his Twitter saying the following:
I’m very busy. I’m building a WB Games studio in San Diego with some super cool people to create super cool games
And since WB are currently the publishers of the Mortal Kombat series of games, starting with the 2011 restart, it is quite possible that John Tobias will have a hand in future MK series games, returning to the team, which is a very good sign. Because it was Ed Boon and John Tobias who came up with the first game in the series, it was their idea, and after John and his new duet with Ed Boon returned, Mortal Kombat can regain its former glory that was in the series in the 90s.
It was also John Tobias who set the bar for the style of Mortal Kombat games, and it was thanks to his idea that the first two games in the series were given away by Japanese culture. Now imagine if John puts his hand to MK12, and the future game will have the same atmosphere of Japanese theme and oriental martial arts. It will be just mega awesome! So let’s cross our fingers and pray that it will be so.
