Venezuelan Table Tennis Circuit Concludes with Strong National Showing
Mérida, Venezuela - The Venezuelan Table Tennis Federation wrapped up its third National Circuit this weekend at the Gymnasium 5 White Eagles in Mérida, showcasing talent across age groups from Under-11 to adult divisions. The event served as key readiness for upcoming international competitions.
Competition was fierce across all categories. In Women’s U15, Caracas athletes swept the podium with Carla Salvatierra taking gold, followed by Alondra González and Diana Marcuñez. Frank Moreno of Trujillo dominated the Men’s U15, with Enmanuel Salcedo and Jonas Golding securing silver and bronze respectively.
Zurisadai Espinoza, representing Yaracuy, claimed the top spot in the Women’s U19 category, with Paola Zerpa and Nathacha Mata rounding out the medalists. Pan American champion Carlos Ríos continued his winning streak in the Men’s U19, besting Ludwing perozo and Jonathan Vegas.The adult divisions saw Camila Obando earn gold in the Women’s category, benefiting from the absence of national ranking leader Roxy González. Albania Romero took silver, and Cristina Gómez of Lara secured bronze. Ríos again proved his dominance, winning the Men’s Adult title, followed by Raymundo Medina of Anzoátegui and César Castillo of the capital District.
Looking ahead, the Venezuelan adult team will compete in the Istanbul Feeder tournament from September 11-15, utilizing the competition as a crucial stepping stone in their preparation for the Lima-Ayacucho Games in November.
