Venezuela Disputes US Account of Caribbean Boat Strike,Claims No Victims Linked to Gang
Washington D.C. – venezuela is vehemently challenging the U.S. narrative surrounding a recent military strike in the Caribbean that resulted in the deaths of 11 people.Caracas asserts that none of the deceased were members of the notorious Venezuelan gang,Tren de Aragua,or involved in drug trafficking,as claimed by the Trump governance. The escalating dispute has prompted venezuela to deploy troops nationwide amidst heightened tensions.
According to Venezuelan Interior Minister and ruling party head Diosdado Cabello, investigations within Venezuela have revealed the identities of the victims’ families. “They openly confessed to killing 11 people,” Cabello stated on state television. ”We have done our investigations here in our country and there are the families of the disappeared people who want their relatives, and when we asked in the towns, none were from Tren de Aragua, none were drug traffickers.”
Cabello further questioned the justification for the lethal force used, asking how the U.S. could definitively determine the presence of narcotics on the vessel and why the individuals were not apprehended rather. “A murder has been committed against a group of citizens using lethal force,” he added.
The incident has sparked outrage in Venezuela, with the government alleging that a video released by President Trump depicting the strike was fabricated using artificial intelligence.
The White House, though, stands by its account. Spokeswoman Anna Kelly defended the action, stating the individuals were ”evil Tren de Aragua narcoterrorists trying to bring illegal drugs into our country and kill Americans.” Kelly also reiterated the U.S. position that Nicolás Maduro is not the legitimate president of Venezuela, labeling him a “fugitive.” The Pentagon has yet to issue a formal response to the Venezuelan claims.
Military Posturing & Regional Concerns
In response to the incident and perceived threats from the U.S., President Maduro announced the deployment of military, police, and civilian defense forces to 284 “battlefront” locations across Venezuela. while the scale of the deployment remains unclear, it signals a significant escalation in military preparedness.
The Trump administration has been steadily increasing its military presence in the southern Caribbean, citing a crackdown on drug smuggling. This includes the recent deployment of 10 F-35 fighter jets to a Puerto Rico airfield. Maduro has repeatedly alleged that the U.S. military intends to orchestrate his removal from power.
