Vegas Golden Knights Dominate Florida Panthers in NHL Finals to Take 2-0 Lead

The Vegas Golden Knights escape to the NHL Finals. Monday at home, in Game 2, they inflicted a correction on the Florida Panthers (7-2). The Nevada franchise leads two wins to zero now. At the end of the second period, the score was already 4-0, in his favor, after goals from Jonathan Marchessault, Alec Martinez, Nicolas Roy and Brett Howden.

This gap led to a change of goalkeeper, on the side of the Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky, one of the architects of Florida’s superb run in the play-offs, gave way to Alex Lyon. The latter still went for the puck three times in the back of his net, also a victim of Marchessault and Howden, plus Michael Amadio. The Florida Panthers had two goals in the final period through Anton Lundell and Matthew Tkachuk.

In their first two matches in this final, the Vegas Golden Knights managed to score 12 goals. No team had been so prolific since the New York Islanders in 1982. The final will continue Thursday in Miami with Game 3.
