In the last two minutes and three seconds, the Rigans won with 13: 4, taking three long shots and reaching 52:42.

After two long shots by Mihala Sokolovskis (52:48), within 76 seconds, Jānis Gailītis was forced to demand a minute break at the beginning of the second half.

The hosts played almost as fast at the beginning of the third quarter, when they approached 48:52 in 85 seconds. Three minutes and 19 seconds until the end of the quarter, after the long shot from Aaron Jones, the Italian club regained the lead – 57:56.

Next, the “Vefis” only managed to reach a draw, reaching 67:67 at the beginning of the fourth quarter after Jane Railley’s three-point throw and 77:77 after Ilya Gromov’s two-point.

The home side made a six-point break, reaching 87:80. With another intercepted ball and a three-point shot, Curry reduced the lead to 85:87 in eight seconds, but failed to win.

Volkers was the most productive for Rigans with 21 points. 17 points were scored by Riley, 13 – Curry, ten – Kristers Zoriks.

Henry Sims had 20 points and six rebounds, especially in the second half of the match, Dimša scored 16 points, 14 points and six assists – Sokolovskis.

In the second game of Group D, Falco Vulcano from Sombathay will host the Athens AEK team on Wednesday.

The Rigans already had a guaranteed place in the main event, but the Treviso club entered it after winning the London Lions, Aarhus Bakken Bears and Minsk Cmoki.

Founded in 2012, the Treviso team will play in the Italian Premier League for the third season in a row. Last season, under the direction of Masimiliano Meneti, the team took sixth place in the regular tournament, but the “play-off” stopped in the first round.

“VEF Rīga” held the first official game of the season on Friday, beating Tallinn’s “Kalev” / “Cramo” with the result 86:84. Treviso basketball players, on the other hand, beat the Tortona and Venice teams at the beginning of the A series season. Before that, in the Super Cup “VEF Rīga” opponents defeated the teams of Naples and Brescia twice, but in the quarterfinals they lost to the Milan club.

At the beginning of the season, the leaders of the Treviso team were Lithuanians Tom Dimša, Devein Russell and Henrijs Simss.

In the regular tournament, 32 teams are divided into eight subgroups of four units each. The winners of the sub-groups will immediately secure a place in the “play-off” first round, where they will be joined by eight more units, which will be determined in the “play-in” series between the second and third place teams in the group.

It is planned that the winners of the “play-in” tournament, the eighth final and the quarterfinals will be determined in a series of up to two victories. The teams that have reached the quarterfinals will enter the “Final Four” tournament, where they will compete for a prize pool of one million euros.

The “VEF Rīga” team, which will participate in this competition for the third season, reached the second stage of the FIBA ​​Champions League main tournament last season.
