Dresden. A tough double game weekend awaits the second division volleyball players at VC Dresden. On this Saturday, the Elbestädter first received the table twelfth TuS Kriftel in their home hall (4 p.m.), the next day they will be a guest at FT Freiburg. “We’ll drive to Nuremberg after the game on Saturday, spend the night and then cover the rest of the total of around 680 kilometers,” explains VC sports director Sven Dörendahl, who not only chauffeurs the team to Breisgau, but also for Niklas Peisl, who was prevented from doing so privately coaching also takes over.
But first the VC men want to throw all their skills into the balance against Kriftel. After all, the team from southern Hesse is a direct competitor in the fight to stay in the league. “Of course we want to keep them at a distance and after a bad first leg that we lost 3-1 we have something to make up for anyway. However, they are an extremely strong defensive team, so we have to play very patiently, ”said Dörendahl. The game in Freiburg is still part of the first half of the season. “The Freiburg team are just ahead of us, so we’re going to figure things out,” said the head of sport confidently. By the way, Freiburg recently won 3-2 at home against Kriftel.
