Van Gerwen was treated to a painful 6-0 defeat by the last 32 on Tuesday Devon Petersen. The South African delivered a great match with an average of 101, two 180’ers and a 12-darter.
For Petersen, it is his second victory in a short time at the number one in the world. In July during the PDC Summer Series, the African Warrior on a 5-0 lead against the 31-year-old from Brabant, but in the end he only won 6-5.
