Valentina Fonseca’s mother, the nine-year-old girl killed last May by her father and stepmother, is convinced that her daughter was murdered for “seeing something in the house”. “In fear, they shut her up”, she accuses.
Sónia Fonseca mentioned, on the other hand, that the girl “always came home from her father’s house”, at Atouguia da Baleia, in Peniche. “When I went to get her to my house, I always asked when she came back. Valentina Fonseca’s mother, whose body was found, on May 10, in a pine forest in Peniche, where she had been left by her father, Sandro Bernardo, and by her stepmother, Márcia Bernardo, recalled that the last conversation with her daughter had been at Mother’s Day (May 3).
“She told me that everything was fine. I asked her if she wanted to come and spend a season with me and she said no, that it was okay. ‘Bye, mother. You’re a pain. I like you very much’, were the last words that she said. I heard “, recalled Sónia Fonseca.
Valentina’s mother says the motive for the crime is the missing answer. “Why did they kill her? I think he saw something in the house and the father, afraid that she would say it, shut her up,” he concluded.
