Vaccination will open in Mexicali for children between 5 and 11 years of age | Forward Valley

MEXICALI – Baja Californian girls and boys from 5 to 11 years of age will be vaccinated against COVID-19, confirmed the Secretary of Health, J. Adrián Medina Amarillas, according to the federal guidelines announced this Tuesday.

As of Thursday, June 16, the registration process will begin on the national online platform mivacuna.gob.mx, where parents must enter the information of minors, to generate the official document.

It will be with the Pfizer biological approved for this population group that the doses will be applied to cover an estimated more than 300,000 girls and boys in the entity, Medina Amarillas indicated.

The official reported that once the doses for this campaign arrive, a strategy will be implemented so that points are activated en masse for easy access to the vaccine, which will be announced on official networks of the Ministry of Health.

He also recalled that Baja California currently has the booster vaccine for the entire population that has already completed 4 months since its last application, which is available in health centers and hospitals.

THE SITUATION

In the last 24 hours, 154 new cases of COVID-19 were reported, of which Tijuana has 61, Mexicali 61, Ensenada 27, Rosarito 5; Tecate, San Quintín and San Felipe with zero confirmed cases.

Again, fortunately there were no deaths from this disease.

At the close of June 13, the active cases are 958; the city of Mexicali with 369, Tijuana 348, Ensenada 200, Rosarito with 33, Tecate 5, San Felipe 2 and in San Quintín 1 active case.

As of today, the hospital occupation in cases of COVID-19 in the Ministry of Health is 0.44 percent and in the IMSS it is 1.19 percent.

There have been 12,158 accumulated deaths since the start of the pandemic and 122,795 patients have recovered.
