Vaccination rate increases for the first time in years | Inland

Of all children born in 2017, 93.6 percent got the injection for measles, mumps and rubella when it was their turn. That is 0.7 percentage points more than a year earlier. Just over half of all girls in 2005 were vaccinated against HPV, the virus that can cause cervical cancer. That is an increase of 7.5 percentage points compared to last year.

The corona outbreak has hardly any consequences for participation in the BMR vaccinations. Those injections were only given a little later than intended. The RIVM calls this reassuring.

More than 1.5 million children and pregnant women were vaccinated throughout 2019. They received a total of more than 2.9 million vaccinations. Mumps was diagnosed 131 times last year, about twice as many as the year before. The increase continued at the beginning of this year, but suddenly stopped in the spring. This is probably due to measures against the corona virus, such as keeping your distance, limiting contacts and closing schools. Whooping cough and meningococci suddenly became less common as a result.

In 2019 there were relatively many cases of measles (84). Diphtheria, tetanus, rubella and polio were not diagnosed.
