Vaccination in Belarus – Lukashenko says the country does not need Western drugs

The leader of the Belarusian ruling regime, Alexander Lukashenko, said that he sees no reason to import Western vaccines against coronavirus into the country. In his opinion, the Chinese and Russian drugs “proved to be better.”

“The Russian and Chinese vaccines against COVID-19 presented in Belarus have proven themselves much better than their Western counterparts, so the country buys these drugs,” Lukashenko said.

He noted that their vaccine is already being produced in Belarus using Russian technologies, so in the future the country will have its own drug.

“Thus, it makes no sense to import Western analogues into the country,” Lukashenka added.
