Vaccination centers for fragile children aged 5 to 11 in Île-de-France

Since December 15, fragile children aged 5 to 11 can be vaccinated against Covid-19. A campaign which should be extended to all children of the same age by the end of the year according to the regional ARS.

Faced with the advance of the Omicron variant, the authorities are encouraging the most vulnerable children to be vaccinated. Because the vaccine prevents the development of serious forms of the disease but also reduces the transmission of the virus.

According to the High Authority for Health, “the individual benefit of vaccination is established for all children aged 5 to 11 who present a risk of developing a severe form of the disease and of dying and for those living in the entourage of immunocompromised or vulnerable people who are not protected by the vaccination”.

Who is concerned ? “The vaccination is open to children aged 5 to 11 years with serious diseases (chronic liver, heart and chronic respiratory diseases, neurological, obesity, diabetes, primary immunodeficiency or suffering from trisomy 21) or living in contact immunocompromised people”, explains the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Île-de-France.
