Vaccination: additional doses and four new sites in the district of Montluçon (Allier)

“Ten days ago, Allier was the first department in France in terms of number of second injections administered and the third for first injections,” diagnoses Christian Quach, the referring doctor from the Athanor anti-covid vaccination center in Montluçon. “This is no longer the case because other departments have had a strong increase in allocations, such as Moselle”.

A thousand more doses to Athanor … if the deliveries follow

However, the Allier is not left out. In Montluçon, where we vaccinate six days a week in Athanor, the number of injectable doses will drop from 1,400 to 2,400 as of next week, “depending on deliveries”, conditions the practitioner.

The whole organization, he says, relies on supplies. However, it still happens that deliveries are delayed, forcing teams to review meeting schedules. “In short, we don’t have a long-term vision. As soon as there are doses available, new slots will be added to those already taken so as not to waste time.

New vaccination sites around Montluçon

In parallel with Athanor, four new vaccination sites are being deployed in the Montluçonnais district. All will receive, for the moment, only the Pfizer vaccine.

In Hedgehog, the vaccination started this Friday, April 16 in the village hall, at the Jacques-Gaulme space, at 21, quai de l’Aumance. It will continue every Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., without interruption. All inhabitants of the Pays de Tronçais community of municipalities eligible for vaccination can register through the Doctolib site or at their town hall. This Friday, for the first day of opening, 78 doses were to be administered. For the next two weeks, it will be 120 doses.

We are delivered by the hospital in the morning of each vaccination day. Currently, we operate with two lines. But if we have additional health professionals, the opening of a third line could be considered within a few weeks.

Laure Gozard (coordinating doctor of the Hérisson center).

The multi-site vaccination unit in La Chapelaude (Village house, 47, rue du Pavé) and in Huriel (gymnasium hall, rue du Moulin-de-Lyon) will begin the injections on Wednesday April 21 for the first site, and Thursday April 22 for the second. Which will take place first in the afternoons, for the first two weeks. Then from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. the following weeks.

The two sites will have 60 doses per half-day and will be open by appointment to all inhabitants of the community of communes of the Pays d’Huriel eligible for vaccination. To make an appointment, you will have to go through the dedicated telephone line (04.70.09.33.18; open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.), or through the Doctolib site.

“If we are given 300 doses per week we will do them, because we will have to vaccinate everyone. “

Alain Dubreuil (referring doctor, mayor of La Chapelaude and vice-president of the community of communes of the Pays d’Huriel.)

Finally, in Commentry, the Agora, rue Abel-Gance, will welcome the first people to be vaccinated on Tuesday, April 20. And so it will be on Tuesdays of every week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., without interruption. As with the other vaccination sites that open in the Montluçonnaise region, you will need to make an appointment at Doctolib.fr. If the center cannot favor the inhabitants of the community of communes, its installation aims to meet the need to vaccinate the population concerned nearby. Here, we will have 300 doses each Tuesday and around twenty health personnel mobilized each time.

An evolution in the administration of the vaccine

It should be noted that the recommendations for vaccine administration, depending on the age and state of health of the person, have further evolved. “We are now being asked to use messenger RNA vaccines for all ages 60 and over. Ditto below this age for people with high-risk pathologies such as active cancers, organ transplants, chronic immunosuppressants … As for those under 60 without high-risk pathologies, vaccination is not not yet possible, except for authorized professions.

Record number of vaccinated in one day in Montluçon

Since the opening of the Athanor center in Montluçon in January, 21,000 doses have been injected. For a third of them, it was the second dose. And this Thursday, April 15, the number of vaccinated even reached the maximum capacity of the center, that is to say 1000 injections during the day. A record that will not happen again in the days to come.

But, “with the increase in load”, the doctor refer Christian Quach calls for the mobilization of all health professionals authorized to vaccinate: “Some such as pharmacists, veterinarians, laboratory technicians or radio manipulators, do not know obviously they can help. It is important to be able to tell them that they are welcome, ”he concludes.
