The Andalusians will be among the first Europeans to have a Covid certificate to travel across the continent without having to undergo quarantines. The launch of the safe-conduct validated by the European Union was announced yesterday by the president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, during his visit to the future Cartuja-Macarena hospital, in his first public act once he recovered from the disease caused by the coronavirus, which confined him to his home for ten days. Andalusians who have completed the vaccination schedule will be able to download this digital pass, which includes a barcode or QR code to verify its authenticity. The document will allow them to move freely and participate without restrictions in all kinds of cultural and sports activities. The community will be, together with other European territories, a testing ground in the Covid passport project that the EU is coordinating. People over 65 years of age, generally less used to using new technologies, will receive the certificate by post.
The rest of the population will be able to access the pass in downloadable PDF format and as a QR code through the Andalusia Health application or the ClicSalud + website of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS). To obtain it, users will identify themselves by means of their digital certificate or by entering their password. People who have completed their vaccination also have the option of requesting it at their health center. For some mobile models the latest update is required, as in the case of Apple’s with iOS.
The Covid vaccination certificate is available to all Andalusians who are immunized after receiving the double dose. Salud is working to offer it those who need a single dose to complete their vaccination, either because they have passed the disease, like Moreno himself, or because they have been immunized with the only Janssen puncture.
Two other types
The Junta de Andalucía will provide two other types of cards. One for Andalusians who have overcome the disease and the other for “people free of Covid.” With the latter, it will be certified that they have been negative in a PCR test or antigen test. The first will be valid for six months and the second, especially useful for attending events such as concerts or matches, will be valid for between one and three days.
Once the supply problems of the first months were overcome, vaccination in Andalusia reached a new milestone. This week, half of the target population (8.4 million Andalusians) in the community – those over 16 years of age – will have at least a first dose of the vaccine, while three out of ten will be fully immunized “at the end of this week with the two doses ».
