UTSA Roadrunners Set to Participate in 2025 jacksonville Classic
SAN ANTONIO,TX – The UTSA men’s basketball team will join a ten-team field at the 2025 Jacksonville Classic,taking place November 23-25 in Jacksonville,Florida. The declaration was made jointly by UTSA Athletics and tournament officials on Tuesday.
The jacksonville Classic is recognized as a leading early-season college basketball tournament and will be hosted at the Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex on the campus of Edward Waters University, a historically significant institution founded in 1866 as Florida’s first independent higher education establishment.
UTSA will be among ten teams competing, including Abilene Christian, Delaware, Georgia Southern, Southern Illinois, UAB, UNC Greensboro, UTEP, William & Mary, and Youngstown State. Each team is scheduled to play two games during the tournament. Specific game times and matchups will be released in the coming weeks.
This will be Head Coach Austin Claunch’s second early-season tournament with the Roadrunners, following their participation in the Trojan Turkey Tipoff at Troy University in Alabama during his first season.
The Jacksonville Classic has quickly gained prominence for its competitive games, national visibility, and positive impact on the Jacksonville community. Organizers anticipate three days of exciting basketball, marking the event as the largest of its kind on the East Coast.
