Many owners of MacBook Pro 2016 and newer have encountered problematic backlighting, or to be more precise, with a short cable, which simply frayed due to a lot of tension, as a result of which the backlight became uneven. For many, the displays stop working altogether.
iFixit: 2016 and newer MacBook Pro display flex cable will fray. Renovated for $ 600

The iFixit specialists figured out the problem and said that Apple took such a step in order to reduce the thickness of the display. It is surprising that if the laptop broke down and you took it for a paid repair (it costs about $ 600 in the US), then you will be fitted with exactly the same short cable that will become unusable in the future.
Which laptops are vulnerable?
All MacBook Pros released between 2016 and 2018. For many users, the problem is revealed after several years, which is why the current models have not yet shown themselves to be bad. I would like to believe that the enlarged train in the models of 2018 and newer, which the repair specialists talk about, will solve the problem and we will not see any “stage light” in the future.
However, Apple launched its 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro repair program last year, but other laptops with the same problem had to be repaired at their own expense.
The users, of course, did not like this, so they filed a class action lawsuit, the purpose of which is to reimburse users for all repair and legal costs, as well as expand the replacement program.
