USC Women’s Golf: Trojans Finish Ninth in Stanford Intercollegiate Round One

No. 2 USC Women’s Golf Concludes First Round in Ninth at the ⁤Rainbow⁣ Wahine Invitational

KAILUA, Hawai’i ⁣- the No. 2 USC Women’s Golf team finished the first round ‌of​ the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in ninth place on October 17, 2025, ⁤at the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. The Trojans posted a team‍ score of 599, trailing several highly ranked opponents in the ​18-team field.

The Rainbow Wahine Invitational serves as a crucial early-season test ​for ​USC, providing ​an​ opportunity to gauge their performance against a competitive lineup and ​refine their strategy before ‌upcoming Pac-12 Conference play. The tournament’s outcome will influence the ⁣team’s national rankings and potential seeding in postseason events. USC will look to climb‌ the leaderboard⁣ in the remaining rounds, aiming to demonstrate their championship caliber.

USC’s scoring was led ‍by sophomore Amelia Garvey and freshman Paige Kilkenny, both tied for 29th place individually with scores of 149. Senior Katherine Schaefer followed closely behind, carding a 150 to tie for 34th. Sophomore Xinran⁣ Ye registered a 151, placing her in a tie for 43rd, while ​junior Brianna Navaretta finished with a 159.

Virginia currently leads the tournament with a score of 583, ⁢followed by UC davis at 583. LSU and Texas are tied for third with 588, while ⁤San Jose State is ⁣fifth​ at 589. Washington and Tennessee share the 17th position with a score of ‍598, and San francisco is 19th with 620.
