WASHINGTON, Dec. 3 (Reuters) – Six cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus responsible for COVID-19 have been detected in the state of Nebraska in the United States, local health officials said, making it the sixth US state to identify a confirmed case of the variant.
One of the cases was confirmed in a person returning from a stay in Nigeria while the other five cases are people who have been in contact with the infected person.
No one was hospitalized, authorities added.
