US publishes guidelines on restrictions for vaccinated people – Abroad – News

The US guidelines also state that vaccinated people will be able to meet more freely with unvaccinated members of the same household who are at low risk of serious illness. This is the case, for example, when vaccinated grandparents meet unvaccinated children and grandchildren.

If a fully vaccinated person becomes the contact person for an infected person, they may not be able to ignore self-isolation or perform tests unless symptoms appear.

While vaccination is active in the United States, questions have arisen as to whether it will provide more freedom to visit families, travel, and otherwise return to a normal rhythm of life.

CDC director Rosel Valensky told a news conference on Monday that the new guidelines were a “first step” to a return to normal life.

At the same time, the CDC recommends that vaccinated people continue to wear face masks in public places and keep a distance, avoiding large gatherings. The center also recommends that vaccinated people take the Covid-19 test if they develop symptoms typical of Covid-19.

A person is considered to be “fully vaccinated” if at least two weeks have elapsed since the second dose of Pfizer / BioNTech or Moderna vaccine, or since the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine, according to the CDC. Currently, 31 million people in the United States, or 9% of the population, have completed a full course of vaccination.

Valenska said at a press conference on Monday that in the future, fully vaccinated people will be given even freer recommendations when the number of illnesses and deaths will decrease, as well as more research data will be available on the extent to which vaccinated people can infect others.

The new US guidelines do not mention Covid-19 sufferers, according to the news agency AP. There is also a lack of clarity about visiting restaurants and other public places, although US state governors are gradually lifting restrictions on businesses.

The guidelines also do not change the travel recommendations. As before, the CDC recommends traveling only when there is a serious need for it, and for a Covid-19 test shortly before departure.
