US President Joe Biden Hands Power to Vice President Kamala Harris

WASHINGTON – President of the United States of America (USA) Joe Biden will hand over power to Vice President (Vice President) Kamala Harris on Friday local time or Saturday (20/11/2021) WIB. The handover took place while the president was under anesthesia for a routine colonoscopy he underwent as part of his annual physical.

The timetable for the transfer of power was announced by White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki in a statement Reuters.

“The vice president will be working from his office in the West Wing during this time,” Psaki said.

Presidential powers have been transferred to the previous vice president, when President George W. Bush underwent colonoscopies in 2002 and 2007. According to Psaki, the transfer of power follows the process set out in the American Constitution.

Biden, who will turn 79, is the oldest person to serve as president in US history.

Despite continued speculation about whether he will run for election in 2024, he has said he hopes to seek a second term with Harris.
