Winners of the US Open 2022
The historical ranking of the most successful players at the US Open is governed by the representatives of the host country. The best, Bill Tilden, managed to win six times between 1920 and 1925, and finished the lucky seven with a win in 1929. The number seven also became fateful for his countrymen Richard D. Sears and William Larned.
–
Among the representatives of Europe, the tallest is Roger Federer, who has raised the winning trophy five times. Enthusiastic tennis fans can be pleased that this statistic also has a Czech imprint. And that’s thanks to Ivan Lendl, who won the US Open three times in a row between 1985 and 1987.
–
Americans also dominate among women. In the 1920s, the US Open was often dominated by Molla Mallory, who won eight titles. In modern history, Chris Evertová came closest to her at the turn of the 70s and 80s, and then the legendary Serena Williams in the new millennium. Both players have won six times at the US Open.
