This was revealed by the deputy assistant secretary of defense for Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia from 2012-2015 Evelyn Farkas.
In his opinion piece published in Defense One, Farkas claims that Russia’s imminent invasion of Ukraine is more likely to become a reality than not.
The former official under President Barack Obama’s administration has insisted that diplomatic talks between Moscow and Washington, taking place this week, are likely to fail, and that the US should be ready to go to war with Russia.
Using the words of former President George W. Bush, which was used to describe the countries that invaded Iraq in 2003, he called on the US to form an international coalition willing to stand in the way of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“And, if necessary, prepare for war,” he exclaimed Russia Today, Thursday (13/1/2022).
According to Farkas, Russia has failed to comply with international law, and has been emboldened by recent mass protests in Kazakhstan, a neighboring and former Soviet republic with close ties to Moscow. All this, he said, made it more likely than ever that Putin was planning to attack Ukraine.
