US Intelligence Dismantles Wuhan Lab Data, Reveals Mystery of COVID-19 Origins

The US intelligence agency is unearthing a ‘treasure’ of genetic data that could be the key to uncovering origin of COVID-19.

Reported CNN, the information data contains genetic blueprints taken from virus samples studied in the laboratory of Wuhan, China. It remains unclear how or when US intelligence agencies gained access to the information.

Generally, the machines used in the generation and processing of this kind of genetic data are connected in a cloud-based server (cloud) external. This means that the data can be hacked.

But once they got access, they had some challenges. Not only do they need scientists, they also need to be able to speak Mandarin because the information is written in Chinese with a special vocabulary.

The mystery of the origin of Corona is still being debated

Officials hope the information obtained will answer questions about the possibility of the virus passing from animals to humans. Unraveling this mystery is crucial to knowing whether COVID-19 leaked from the laboratory or was transmitted from humans to animals.

Investigators both inside and outside the US government have long sought genetic data from 22,000 samples of the virus being studied at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). The data was removed from the internet by Chinese officials in September 2019, and China has since refused to submit any other raw data on early cases of the coronavirus to the World Health Organization.

It’s just that some scientists doubt the lab at the Institute of Virology Wuhan or other laboratories in China have virus samples that can track the Corona virus.

“Basically in (a 2020 research paper published in Nature), WIVs talk about all the sequences they had up to a point in time. That’s what most virology scientists believe, that’s what they have,” said Dr Robert Garry, a virologist. at the Tulane University School of Medicine.

Another source said that tracing the origin of COVID-19 is not enough just to find the missing genetic data. The data is also not sufficient to prove conclusively whether COVID-19 originated in a laboratory in Wuhan or emerged naturally.
