US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, along with her colleagues from France, Germany, Italy and the UK discussed further steps to introduce additional sanctions against Russia and extend support to Ukraine.

“The meeting participants agreed on plans for additional sanctions, as well as other measures in order to hold the Russian Federation accountable,” the report says.

In addition, the parties had an extensive discussion on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the importance of continuing to provide military assistance to Ukraine for self-defense, as well as humanitarian assistance to millions of people forced to flee their homes.

They also discussed the threat to global food security caused by the Russian invasion.
