He added: The director of the Power agency will engage during his trip with Lebanese government leaders and businessmen to press for urgent reforms and policies, and Power will meet those working to fight corruption and strengthen the role of the private sector, and Lebanese and Syrian students. In addition, he will meet Syrian refugees and residents of Lebanese host communities to emphasize the continued support of the United States.
Power will visit USAID projects that aim to build sustainable food systems and projects that use renewable energy to provide clean water to communities in need, highlighting USAID’s efforts to address the effects of climate change before traveling to Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, to participate in the conference “of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27).
