Government Ukraine declares to have received supply long range rocket system High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) sophisticated supply United States of America (US). The powerful long-range weapons system from the US is expected by Kiev to help turn the situation around in the country Russian invasion.
As reported ReutersFriday (24/6/2022), Moscow troops reportedly continued to advance in their offensive in eastern Ukraine, in an attempt to control the industrial heartland called Donbas. On the other hand, Ukraine is worried that its troops there have been surrounded by troops Russia.
On Thursday (23/6) local time, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov revealed that HIMARS supplies from the US had arrived on Ukrainian territory.
“Thanks to my colleague and friend, Secretary of Defense (USA) Lloyd Austin for these advanced tools!” Reznikov wrote in a statement via Twitter.
“Summer will be hot for the Russian invaders. And be the last for some of them,” he added.
Reznikov did not further specify the number of HIMARS rocket systems that Ukraine had received from the US.
Ukrainian authorities say they need the HIMARS rocket system to match the range of the Russian rocket system, which it says is widely used to hit Ukrainian troop positions in the Donbas.
