US airlines deny flights to 700 passengers for not wearing masks – Abroad – News

Delta Air Lines has added 270 passengers to the “no-fly” list for not wearing masks. It is followed by United Airlines with 150, Spirit Airlines with 128, Frontier Airlines with 106, Alaska Airlines with 78, and Hawaiian Airlines with six such passengers.

These lists may overlap. However, the airlines do not share the names of these passengers, so a passenger who has been denied boarding by one airline can continue to fly on the planes of other airlines.

American Airlines and Southwest Airlines declined to disclose how many passengers were banned from flying their planes for not wearing face masks.

Alaska Airlines has also issued 92 warnings to passengers who have been repeatedly accused of ignoring the face mask policy on one flight.

In response to the pandemic, all major U.S. airlines require passengers over the age of two to wear a face shield in flight, except when eating, drinking, or taking medication.

The duration of the flight ban depends on the airline and the passenger’s behavior at the time of the breach.
