Ural Choir Wins “Rossia-1” with Latvian Song Performance

Ural Federal University Choir ​Stuns Russian TV ​Audience with ‍Latvian Song

Moscow, Russia – The Academic⁢ Choir of Students and Graduates of the​ ural ⁤Federal University delivered a show-stopping performance of the Latvian song “I Lie, Sleep” on the final of the ⁣popular russian ⁤TV project “Nu-ka, Vse vmeste!” broadcast on channel “Rossija-1.” The choir,comprised of‌ singers with no Latvian speakers,earned a near-perfect score of 99 out of 100 from a jury of 100‌ experts – including educators,choir masters,singers,and previous season winners – who judge ⁤performances based on how many jurors⁤ are moved to stand.

The choir first performed the song in Riga in‍ 2017, reportedly moving the local audience to tears.”This composition has long been in our ⁢repertoire,” explained choir artistic director Svetlana Dolnikovsky. “we just worked a lot on the pronunciation. And the choice fell on the song – because music has no limits!”

The ‌performance, notably delivered with the choir members’ eyes closed, drew high praise ‌from industry figures. Pop star Philip Kirkorov lauded the choir’s artistic and innovative approach, stating, “It is indeed very creative, talented, this has so much ⁣intelligence, culture, posture. At the moment, I have the best, this is ‌truly a procession of the winners.”
