Seven people in Liège
CHU Liège recorded seven suspected cases of coronavirus on Monday. One of them, whose condition is not critical, is hospitalized, while a second “is being explored”. The other five are in solitary confinement at their home, the hospital said. However, the latter is still awaiting the results which will fall this Tuesday at 9:30 am.
The test samples from these patients were sent, as required by the procedure, to the KULeuven laboratory.
At the same time, the CHU de Liège reassures the other patients who have to go to the hospital on this day. “To respond to people who have an RV or an operation scheduled for this Tuesday and who are worried. Consultations are ensured and the intervention program is maintained. This situation is likely to evolve from day to day, “said one on Facebook.
Two cases at Hornu
This Monday, two people who had stayed in Italy, in Lombardy, presented themselves to the emergency services of Hornu. Analyzes were of course carried out. The results are still awaited. The two patients were confined to the hospital pending the results.
If there are officially two suspected cases, the number of reports is increasing in the Mons region. A few days ago, a person presenting with disturbing symptoms presented himself to the Warquignies emergency room at CHR Mons-Hainaut hospital. Analyzes were of course carried out. They have been shown to be negative for coronavirus.
“Daily follow-up meetings are organized,” said the hospital’s communications department. And this Monday morning, the ministry sent directives. Phase 1 of the hospital emergency plan has been launched. Concretely, the emergency services are on alert. “

In Ghlin, a professor at the provincial special education center in Mons was unable to give lessons on Monday. Returning from a stay in northern Italy, a coronavirus affected area, the teacher had to be rushed to hospital because he had symptoms of the flu. However, humans must wait a few days to find out if they have been infected with the virus. According to our information, another teacher was sent home by the school on Monday. The lady had spent a stay abroad. As a precaution and to avoid any risk of contamination, she was asked to return home. For its part, management does not confirm this second case.
A case in Eupen
Finally to be complete, another suspicious case was reported to Eupen.
The expected SPF update
The FPS Public Health will take stock of the number of people infected with the coronavirus in Belgium this Tuesday at 10.00 am. In fact, as Federal Minister of Health Maggie De Block (Open Vld) said on Monday morning, the FPS Public Health will now send a communication on the state of the matter every day at 10:00 am.
