Communication from the Ministry of Social Affairs

Exceptions to the test requirement for 2G-Plus

Health Minister Manne Lucha: “Anyone who has been boosted or whose full immunization was not more than 6 months ago is exempt from the obligation to test 2G-Plus”

A stricter corona regulation has been in force in Baden-Württemberg since the weekend. In many areas of public life, vaccinated and convalescent people also need a negative corona test (so-called 2G-Plus rule). The Ministry of Social Affairs has asked the regulatory authorities to exercise goodwill in the first week and to refrain from punishing violations for the time being. On the basis of scientific expertise, the state government further specified the 2G-plus regulation on Sunday (December 5th) and agreed on the following points:

  • People with a booster vaccination are exempt from the obligation to test under the 2G-Plus scheme.
  • The following groups of people without a booster vaccination are equated with a booster vaccination with regard to their immune status:
    • Vaccinated persons who have completed the basic immunization, if no more than 6 months have passed since the last required individual vaccination,
    • Recovered people whose infection can be proven to have occurred no more than 6 months ago (the infection must be verified by laboratory diagnostics using nucleic acid detection / PCR test).

The state government will include a corresponding clarification in the justification for the Corona Regulation.

Transitional regulation for non-immunized adolescents

Until January 31, 2022, all adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 who have not yet been fully immunized have the opportunity to gain access to all 2G facilities using daily antigen rapid tests. The state government assumes that all young people from the age of 12 had the opportunity to be vaccinated by the end of this period, which has now been extended again.
