UPDATE: Increasing 3,891, Now There are 236,519 Covid-19 Cases in Indonesia

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Various ways have been made by the government to reduce the spread Covid-19, but the number of cases is still increasing today, Friday (18/9/2020).

The government claims that contagion corona virus is still happening, so there are additions Covid-19 patients in quite high numbers.

Based on data as of this Friday at 12.00 WIB, there are 3,891 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.

It was total cause coronavirus case in Indonesia there are now 236,519 people, as of the announcement of the first patient on March 2, 2020.

This information was revealed by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force through data submitted to journalists on Friday afternoon.

Data can also be accessed on the Covid19.go.id website or the Ministry of Health’s website, which is updated every afternoon.

Specimen data

A total of 3,891 new cases of Covid-19 were discovered after the government examined 44,428 specimens a day.

This number exceeds the target of 30,000 specimens in a day that was declared by President Joko Widodo.

During the same period, 28,324 people were sampled to undergo specimen examination.

In total, the government has tested 2,841,352 specimens on 1,676,648 people sampled.

With the record, one person can undergo specimen examination more than once.

The patient recovered and died

The number of Covid-19 cases continues to increase, but the government is trying to provide hope by showing that many patients are recovering.

In a day, there were an additional 4,088 Covid-19 patients who had recovered and were no longer infected with the corona virus.

This is a record number of patients recovered in a day, since the beginning of the pandemic.

They were declared cured after the examination with the method polymerase chain reaction (PCR) shows negative results for the corona virus.

Thus, the number of Covid-19 patients who recovered reached 170,774 people.

However, sad news continues to hit Indonesia with the addition of Covid-19 patients who have died.

In the period 17-18 September 2020, 114 Covid-19 patients died.

Thus, the death rate due to Covid-19 in Indonesia has now reached 9,336 people.

Apart from positive cases, the government also shows that currently there are 104,866 people who are suspicious.

Coronavirus case has been recorded in all provinces in the country, or 34 provinces from Aceh to Papua.

In detail, there are 493 districts / cities from 34 provinces that are affected coronavirus transmission.

This means that more than 95 percent of Indonesia’s territory has recorded Covid-19 cases.
