120-130 billion rubles will be spent on the development of a new model of the Russian short-haul airliner Sukhoi Superjet. About this with reference to sources close to the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) and the management of Rostec State Corporation. reported newspaper “Vedomosti” and confirmed the sources of RBC.
One of the interlocutors of RBC explained that about half of this amount could be spent on the development of the Russian PD-8 engine necessary for the Sukhoi Superjet New (SSJ-NEW). Now Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft are equipped with SaM146 engines, which are produced by a joint venture between the French SAFRAN Aircraft Engines and the Russian UEC-Saturn.
“Superjet New is a Sukhoi Superjet with an import-substituted onboard system and units. The planned date for the appearance of such an aircraft is 2023, but the future of the PD-8 is in question. It is not yet certain whether he will appear within the specified time frame, ”a source told RBC in the UAC. The PD-8 is being developed by the United Engine Corporation, controlled by Rostec.
RBC turned to Rostec for comments.
Creation of SSJ-NEW in modification with maximum import substitution of components and systems in report UAC for 2019 was named one of the key projects. The document notes that the project is financed “mainly at the expense of own or borrowed funds.”
