Promotion fund of the DKHW

For initiatives, associations and projects of child and youth work from all over Germany, there is still the possibility until March 31, 2021 to submit applications to the funding fund of the German Children’s Fund and receive up to 5,000 euros. Long-term projects can even be funded with up to 10,000 euros.
The aim of the support fund is to publicize children’s rights and improve the living environment of children and young people under the aspect of participation. Associations, independent organizations, initiatives, parent groups, groups of children and young people as well as student initiatives can submit applications for projects that have not yet started.
You can also continue to benefit from nonprofits Corona emergency aid packages be requested. Projects are supported here by associations, refugee institutions and children’s homes, for example.
The German Children’s Fund promotes the following areas through the Corona emergency aid packages:
- “Digital learning”: support for digital learning equipment for a child. Associations / initiatives are funded that give out loan equipment to children.
- “Healthy nutrition”: Associations and initiatives implement offers for balanced and healthy nutrition, such as digital cooking courses or lunch.
- “Learning and play packages”: Children without daycare access receive a play and learning package through clubs / initiatives to promote development at home.
- “Tutoring”: tutoring for a child – either digitally or taking into account the existing health safety precautions.
- “Homeschooling in refugee accommodation”: Financial resources are made available for PCs, printers, paper and writing materials.
Participation of children and young people as a principle
In the last five years, the German Children’s Fund has supported 1,956 projects with a total of around 6,602,000 euros. The funds receive financial support for projects, institutions and initiatives that have made the participation of children and young people, regardless of their origin or residence status, a principle of their work. It’s all about Participation in the areas of democratic participation, to ensure equal opportunities and fair educational opportunities for disadvantaged children, healthy nutrition or child and youth-friendly changes in town and village, in schoolyards, outside daycare areas or playgrounds.

Support the democratic engagement of children and young people
