UOC-MP organized an action for the arrival of Patriarch Bartholomew

The protesters were holding in their hands the same type of posters with a portrait of the Patriarch of the UOC-MP Onufriy, on which it was announced that he was their primate.

Believers of the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate on Friday, August 20, staged a picket along the Boryspil highway, along which Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, who had arrived in Ukraine, was traveling. PavlovskyNews reports this by publishing photos and videos from the scene.

It is noted that several groups of believers of the UOC-MP with posters of the head of their church, Metropolitan Onuphry, staged an action along the route of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s movement from the airport to Kiev.

Thus, they wanted to convey to the Patriarch of Constantinople that they did not support the tomos that he gave to the OCU. The parishioners consider their only primate Metropolitan Onuphry, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The protesters were holding dozens of similar colored posters with a portrait of Onuphrius, in which it was written in three languages - Greek, English and Ukrainian – what they considered to be their primate.

In addition, on August 21 at 11:00, the UOC-MP plans to hold a rally near the Verkhovna Rada, where Patriarch Bartholomew will meet with President Zelensky and the head of parliament Razumkov.

Earlier it was reported that Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, together with Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine Epiphanius will lead the liturgy in Hagia Sophia on August 22 on the territory of the Hagia Sophia.

Recall that last fall, President Vladimir Zelensky meets with Patriarch Bartholomew in the Stambul.
