It will be a real treat for aviation enthusiasts. On Tuesday, December 20, the ferry of the Dreamliner 787 from Gdansk Airport to Poznań will be a commercial flight. Tickets from PLN 199 are already available in the LOT sales system.

Ferrying aircraft between airports is a routine activity of carriers, aimed at grouping the fleet and adapting available machines to the existing route network.
Most of the time it takes place in a simplified formula, i.e. non-commercial (without the participation of passengers and without starting the sale of tickets).
This happens, for example, when one day the plane ends its flight in one city and the next day it continues to fly, but from another airport.

And so it will be in December, with the difference that the plane from Gdansk will not fly empty. As announced Krzysztof Moczulskispokesman for LOT Polish Airlines, a few days before Christmas, the ferrying of the Dreamliner 787 between Gdansk and Poznań will take place as a commercial flight.
This means that you will be able to board, obviously after purchasing a ticket. These have already appeared in the LOT sales system.
Departure from Gdansk is scheduled at 15. The machine will remain in the air for about 70 minutes.

The first flight across the ocean from the Tri-City to the Dominican Republic
The Dreamliner scheduled for the ferry is the same wide-body machine that inaugurated a regular connection from Gdansk to the Dominican Republic in mid-November. It can accommodate 252 passengers in three travel classes. The aircraft features a composite fuselage structure, larger windows than in a normal aircraft, and a more economical engine that consumes less fuel and generates less noise.
On Friday morning, economy class tickets could be booked from 178 PLN.

According to the flight schedule, the plane will take off from Gdansk Tuesday 20 December, 3.00 pm. It will land in Ławica after a 70-minute flight. On Friday morning, economy class tickets started at PLN 178. It shouldn’t be a problem to go back to the Tri-City either. Intercity train tickets cost approx. PLN 50.
This solution will benefit not only aviation enthusiasts, who will have the opportunity to fly a Dreamliner in national traffic for the first time, but also the airline, which will amortize the costs of the necessary flight from Gdansk to Poznań by starting the sale of tickets.
