United Arab Emirates Withdraws from Multinational Maritime Coalition for Gulf Safety: Details and Impact

The United Arab Emirates has withdrawn from the multinational coalition of the Combined Maritime Forces, deployed in the Gulf, the Red Sea and the Straits of Hormuz and Bab El-Mandeb to ensure the safety of navigation, reports the American daily The Wall Street Journal.

Led by the United States and made up of soldiers from 38 countries, including “the United Kingdom, France, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Germany”, it is “the largest maritime security force in the world”, says the newspaper.
