The American airline United Airlines announced its flight schedule for the coming year on Thursday. The airline wants to offer a direct connection between Mallorca and New York from June 2022. The airport is Newark Liberty, which is located in New Jersey.
United Airlines announced that three connections per week are initially planned, the number of which could be increased if demand is high. The route is to be served with a Boeing 767-300, which offers space for 204 passengers.
Andreu Serra, Head of Tourism in the Mallorca Island Council, sees the announcement as positive: “It helps us to address holidaymakers from many different regions.” The Mallorcan Tourism Foundation now plans to promote Mallorca in different parts of the United States, including Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Washington, New York, Boston and Miami.
