Union Berlin Activates Purchase Option for Diogo Leite from FC Porto for €7.5 Million

Union Berlin announced this Thursday that it had activated the purchase option for Diogo Leite, who is transferring permanently to the German club, leaving FC Porto.

The 24-year-old player made 40 appearances in his debut season for the club that led the Bundesliga for part of the season, now seeing the contribution made by the club recognized by the signing, which will have cost 7.5 million euros, according to with the information disclosed at the time of the transfer by the dragons.

«I feel very comfortable at Union since the beginning and I’m happy to have shown a good performance. This season was very positive and fun. I hope things continue like this», said the player who has already been called up by Roberto Martínez to the national team, despite not having made his debut.

FC Porto has already said goodbye to Diogo Leite on social media, thanking the player who arrived at the club aged 10. «Thank you, Diogo Leite. You will always be one of us», wrote the dragons.
