CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa women’s tennis team will kick off its 2025-26 season September 19-21 at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The tournament marks the start of a new campaign for the Panthers and provides an early gauge of their competitiveness against top Midwestern programs.
The Gopher Invitational annually draws strong competition, offering UNI an immediate possibility to assess its roster and strategies. Returning to lead the team are seniors Lasya Mylavarapu and Kanyanut Sudsaard, alongside sophomores Andjela Raznatovic and Abbie Peterson. Raznatovic and Peterson both secured singles wins at last year’s invitational,with Raznatovic also contributing to a doubles victory.
This year’s team will also feature three newcomers – freshmen Sedina Begic, Yangjiaxin Li, and Alyssa Meeky - who are poised to make their collegiate debuts. The Panthers will look to build on last season’s performance and establish a strong foundation for the year ahead.
