Between its credits with heady music and its idyllic setting, the series Under the sun captivated millions of viewers in the years 90-2000. Starring the fates of three young women, Laure (Bénédicte Delmas), Caroline (Adeline Blondieau) and Jessica (Tonya Kinzinger), the series has 480 episodes in total and a huge audience. Today, we take you behind the scenes in five anecdotes.

1. The golden rule: good weather every episode

You thought you had seen it all in terms of the craziest filming secrets of your favorite series ? Under the sun has not said its last word. The production crew for the soap opera had a golden rule: it had to be sunny all the time on screen. For that, they had their little tips and tricks. Pascal Breton, co-creator of the series, revealed to the Swiss daily Time in May 2000: “Everything we write can be shot either indoors or outdoors depending on the weather. “

2. Frédéric Deban was almost run over by Brigitte Bardot’s car on the set

Frédéric Owing to Good almost died on the set from Under the sun. “The Mehari and the vociferous shrew tumble at the speed of a Formula 1 and, for the second time in two days, I find myself in the ditch. ” remembers the actor from Under the sun. Here again, more fear than harm for Frédéric Deban.

3. The real reason for Adeline Blondieau’s departure

Adeline Blondieau was one of the headliners of Under the sun, where she played the role of Caroline Drancourt. She played this character until season 12 and then returned in season 14.e and last season as a guest. The actress chose to stop playing in the series for very specific reasons, as she explained on the show. It Starts Today in May 2020.

4. Bénédicte Delmas stopped her acting career after “Under the Sun”

Propelled to the front of the stage thanks to her role as Laure Olivier in Under the sun, Bénédicte Delmas did not support the notoriety. Interviewed by the magazine Leisure TV in 2018, the actress revealed to have “Very badly lived” this exhibition. “Today at 46 years old, with hindsight, I can say that I lived it very badly. But I did not allow myself to live it badly, because I told myself that I had a huge chance, that many projects did not work, that I had the chance to shoot in a series acclaimed by the public. Bénédicte Delmas realized that she preferred to work behind rather than in front of the camera. After making episodes of Under the sun, the star ended her acting career after the series ended in 2008. She focused on her career as a director, including working on series More beautiful life, Cain or Clem. Bénédicte Delmas also directed a few episodes of Under the Saint-Tropez sun, the series derived from Under the sun with Nadège Lacroix.

5. Tonya Kinzinger was “very afraid” of the return of the series

In March 2013, the series returns under the title Under the sun from Saint-Tropez. If Adeline Blondieau resumes her role of Caroline Drancourt, this is not the case for Bénédicte Delmas and Tonya Kinzinger. Asked about it while on the show The Mag on NRJ12, the interpreter of Jessica Lowry revealed the reasons for his non-return.
