UN agrees to new international name for Turkey

Now, instead of the Made in Turkey brand, export products from the country will come under the Made in Türkiye brand.

The United Nations approved Ankara’s request to register the name of the country in foreign languages with the UN as Türkiye. About it informs Turkish news agency Anadolu Agency.

“The new Türkiye brand is now valid in foreign languages,” the message says.

The UN spokesman said the change in the name of the country took effect from the moment the letter was received. Now, instead of the Made in Turkey brand, export products from the country will come under the Made in Türkiye brand.

Previously it was reported that country rebranding application was put forward last year when the Turkish president declared that it “best represents and expresses the culture, civilization and values of the Turkish nation.”
