ULM Warhawks Prepare for Road Test at Houston
MONROE, LA – The University of Louisiana monroe (ULM) women’s soccer team heads to Houston for a challenging matchup against the Cougars on Thursday, September 12, seeking to continue its strong start to the 2024 season. This contest marks a key non-conference battle as the Warhawks navigate a demanding schedule before entering Sun belt Conference play.
ULM enters the game with momentum following a 2-1 victory over Little Rock on August 27th, marking the program’s second consecutive win against the Trojans. A significant factor in the team’s early success has been the integration of 11 newcomers, with 10 already contributing to on-field action and four recording their first collegiate points. Freshmen Vienna Tokam and Maria Thania Gealon have each scored their first career goals, bolstering the Warhawks’ offensive capabilities.
head Coach Will Roberts has seen contributions from returning players as well. Maddox Dolly made her ULM debut in goal, while Stacey qosja registered her first career point against Little Rock. Leading the team both on and off the field are captains Skylar Blaise, Beth Strutton, and Libby Holmes, who collectively account for 15 of the team’s total points. Blaise currently leads the team with six points, followed by Strutton with five, and Holmes with four.
Fans can follow the action live on ESPN+, with live stats available through ULMWarhawks.com. Following the Houston game, ULM will continue its road trip with a match at McNeese on Sunday, September 15th, before returning home to begin a four-match homestand on September 19th against Grambling State.
