Ukrainian Usyk took Joshua away from the belts of a boxing champion

Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua and deprived him of the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO world heavyweight titles. The favored Brit at Tottenham Hotspur football stadium in London, where 67,000 fans watched the fight, lost after 12 rounds of points.

Thirty-one-year-old Joshua lost his second profiling in the 26th duel, losing sensationally to Andy Ruiz of the USA in June the year before last. Half a year later, he took back the champion’s belts.

On the contrary, Usyk, who was three years older, remained undefeated even after the 19th duel, but only boxed in heavyweight for the third time. Before that, he entered the cross weight category, which he reigned in, and in 2018 he managed to obtain the belts of all four large organizations.

After Evander Holyfield and David Haye, Usyk became the third boxer to rule cross and heavyweight. In addition, he followed in the footsteps of his legendary compatriots brothers Vladimir and Vitaliy Klickova, also former champions.

“The fight went as I expected. There were times when Anthony pushed me a lot, but it was nothing special. I didn’t aim to knock him out. I’ve been working hard for this fight since January, it took half a year and I didn’t see my family for a long time. Now I will go home happy and be with her, “said Usyk.

In the contract, Joshua has the option of retaliation if he wants to. In the meantime, he can forget about the expected duel with compatriot Tyson Fury, who holds the WBC belt. Fury must first box with Deontay Wilder, they should fight on October 9th.
