Lithuania faces shortage of barbed wire due to influx of migrants

Vilnius is faced with the problem of lack of materials for arranging the border with Belarus, from where the flow of migrants has increased in recent months.
Ukraine will transfer humanitarian aid to Lithuania in the form of barbed wire for the arrangement of the border with Belarus. The corresponding draft presidential decree on Wednesday, July 28, was approved at a government meeting.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba noted that such a decision is connected with the current critical situation on the border of Lithuania with Belarus and the appeal of the Lithuanian side.
In particular, we are talking about the critical increase in the number of illegal migrants who enter Lithuania through Belarus.
It was previously reported that barbed wire has run out in Lithuania because of the strengthening of the border with Belarus. The European Union is ready to provide financial assistance to Lithuania in this matter.
Later it became known that Estonia will send 100 km of wire to the Lithuanian-Belarusian border.
